ROSS TOWNSHIP FIRE
Ross Township, PA
Our team partnered with the eight fire departments that protect Ross Township, Pennsylvania. Sponsored by their relief association, the fire departments outlined their priorities for our partnership:
- 64 Pre-Incident Plans, all in the same template and format, revolving around the floor plans of high-hazard properties.
- A 15-square-mile map book for the entire township with uniform design and organization, available both on paper and digitally.
- All content to be uploaded to Active911 for access by township departments and mutual aid organizations.

- Training program to increase high-hazard operational education and culture, and assistance with an increase in their ISO rating.

Pre-Incident Planning

Our team worked with fire department leadership in the development of pre-incident plans for 64 of the townships' high-hazard occupancies. As of 10 months into our partnership, 29 of the pre-incident plans have been completed.
The goals of the pre-incident plans have been outlined as follows for all 64 pre-incident plans:
- Floor plans and interior imagery of each occupancy, designed and organized in the same format to allow for ease of use during emergency responses.
- Drone imagery to assist in roof
surveys, identifying hazards that
are not visible from the ground
during operations.
- Upload of the pre-incident
plans to Active911 to ensure
ease of access for the township
departments and mutual aid
organizations.
- Updates every 1, 2, or 3 years
based on occupancy to ensure
the accuracy of the pre-incident
plans.

Chateau Perry Apartments
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Fire Department: Ross Township Fire Departments
Assisting Organization: Zaremba Management Company
Our team completed and published a pre-incident plan for this four-story type 2 multi-residential building in Pittsburgh, PA. The published pre-plan was followed by 24 hours of training for the township fire department and their mutual aid, ensuring all members understood the application of the pre-plan, as well as the hazards associated with the occupancy.

Waldorf Park Apartments
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Fire Department: Ross Township Fire Companies
Assisting Organization: Lobos Management
A complicated apartment complex including 5 apartment buildings, each with its own apartment number pattern and limited standpipe opportunities. Long stretches, strategic apparatus placement, and limited water supply all play a factor in this pre-plan. The fire company and mutual aid spent 6 hours completing mock responses to the property.

Mapbook

At the start of our partnership, we developed a 15-square mile Guidebook for the entire township, all designed and organized in a standard format across the township jurisdictions.

- Intuitive water supply solutions,
outlined in a simple and standard
format.
- An educational guide for the
township responders, providing a
resource for district learning.
- Both printed and digital copies
were provided to each of the fire
companies.

Over 30 hours of training were completed and documented, providing township responders and mutual aid organizations with classroom, simulation, and practical training events.
Training events included the following:

SERIES 1 - CLASSROOM

SERIES 2 - SIMULATION
