On June 8th, 2022, Station 25 along with the box assignment for The Concord made the response for a reported fire with entrapment. Squad 25 arrived on the scene of a 5-story residential over commercial with nothing evident and completed a 360. Crews took to the rear stairwell as incident command (IC) was established. IC utilized the structural pre-plan of the building to determine the reported fire apartment, the stairwell crews utilized for fire attack, as well as details on the fire protection features of the structure.

A small fire on the stove was located and extinguished prior to arrival by occupants with a moderate smoke condition. IC had the necessary information to make informed decisions if the scene progressed into a

BATHROOM FIRE IN A 7-STORY MID-RISE

Occupancy: Multi-Residential
location: Claymont, DE

In the early morning hours of February 27th 2022, Engine 13 was dispatched for a fire alarm at a local mid-rise structure. On arrival, the assignment was upgraded for smoke on the second floor. The upgrade brought an additional 3 engines, two ladders, and rescue, as well as the duty chief.
As incident command was established, the incident commander (IC) utilized the structural pre-plan of the structure to determine the fire apartment location after being reported by the engine officer. IC then instructed Tower 10 to position on the B/C corner and ensure adequate egress of the fire apartment and confirmed the stairwell number being used for attack. The stairwell number reported by the engine officer matched with the structural pre-plan being utilized by IC.
During the entire incident, the incident command knew the location of his engine crew and fire apartment while remaining on the opposite side of the structure.
